Amy's Heart of Gold was created in 2017 after the world tragically lost a beautiful soul—Amy Shaffer Mabion. Its mission is to keep Amy’s memory and joyful spirit alive, while raising funds to support the physical and emotional wellbeing of her three children: Jayden, Braylen, and Trinity.

The funds raised through Amy's Heart of Gold have helped provide for Jayden, Braylen, and Trinity in many ways, including:

            -therapy sessions

            -legal fees needed for custody hearings

            -school fees

            -sports and activities fees

            -trips to Colorado, Florida, and Branson, MO to create lasting family memories

From our annual dodgeball tournament, to selling Heart of Gold merchandise, to the simple act of tying a gold ribbon in Amy’s memory, this community continuously shows Amy’s family that they are surrounded by love and support, and always will be.

In addition, while actual financial support is necessary to support Amy’s children, the Heart of Gold also continues to bring their community together to honor their mom. All three children struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more from the trauma that happened to them on that horrific, tragic day. When they see someone wearing a Heart of Gold t-shirt, or they see all the teams that come out to play at the annual dodgeball tournament, they are reminded that they are not alone. They are reminded of their amazing mom who loved them unconditionally. And while she may not be here to hug them physically, she is still pouring out her love through the Heart of Gold community.
